David Artell wants his Crewe Alexandra side to get back to becoming hard to beat after conceding too many goals for his liking recently. Crewe somehow conceded two goals in the first half against Swindon on Tuesday evening but brilliantly fought back to eventually win 4-2 at the Alexandra Stadium.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “As I said after the game on Tuesday I didn’t think that Swindon deserved to be two goals up. We gifted them two goals and it is unlike us.
“We did the same thing at Portsmouth when we gifted them two goals there but on the whole we have defended well.
“We have to get back to being hard to beat. You have to correspond that with scoring goals and get the balance right. If you can strike that perfect balance then it breeds success.
“I don’t think anyone watching that second half on Tuesday night could begrudge us the victory. I thought we were fine in possession in the first half but were a bit passive out of the ball. We spoke about one or two things at half time, mainly about increasing the tempo and thankfully it worked.”
