Assistant manager Kenny Lunt is pleased the squad got more minutes under their belt in testing conditions

Crewe Alexandra completed another 90 minutes against League Two side Salford City on Tuesday evening, with the management staff splitting two 11-aside teams into 60 minutes and 30 minutes.

With pre-season now in full swing for the Railwaymen, it's been the perfect opportunity for the Dave and Kenny to test their full squad.

The assistant manager said: "It was a good work out for the lads who've completed 60 or 30 minutes, but the main thing is at this moment in time that nobody has been injured.

"The new lads have come in and done well, they’ve been listening to what we’ve told them and they’ve still got a lot to learn about the way we play, but it was a good workout from them all."

After adding another four goals to their pre-season so far, the gaffer's right hand man added: "I always think our players are always capable of scoring goals. We will have to tighten up with the amount of chances we gave away last season and become tighter as a team not just the back players."
