Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has praised the unbelievable loyalty and commitment of supporters who have already renewed their season tickets for the 2020/21 season.
The Crewe boss knows that football is not top priority at the moment as the world continues to fight the horrific Covid-19 pandemic – but he has been genuinely moved by the supporters continued backing of their club during these testing times.
Artell told crewealex.net via a video link: “I know the club have frozen the early bird offer on season tickets and they have continued to sell them online. That has been a real positive and just goes to show how much the club means to its fans and the local community.
“For people to buy a season ticket at this moment in time and support their club financially, is unbelievable. There is a lot of uncertainty around at the moment, so for people to spend a few bob on a season ticket for the following season is an amazing gesture.
“It doesn’t half help the club at the moment and I cannot praise them enough for doing that.
He added: “They don’t know what division we will be in or if we will have to play a certain number of games behind closed doors. Many of the fans will be furloughed or even worse and football won’t be their top priority, so for us to still be selling season tickets is unbelievable really.”
