The Treatment Room Is Empty With Only Green Missing Through Suspension

20 September 2019

The treatment room at the club’s training ground is currently vacant, giving David Artell virtually a full strength squad to choose from for the visit of Salford City this weekend. The Railwaymen are only without the vastly experienced midfielder Paul Green, who will serve the second game of his three match suspension following his dismissal in the home defeat to Cambridge United last week.

Manager David Artell has praised the work of his medical team and sports science department for their endeavour in making everyone fit and available.

The boss told crewealex.net: “The treatment room is empty and the medical staff and sports science department deserve credit for that. They have done a terrific job and we look in pretty good shape at the moment.

“I think we have also learned over the past couple of seasons how to treat the players, when to have a rest day, a recovery day and when we need an intense session. I think that has helped us as well and of course, it always helps when you are winning games. The lowest insurance claims have always been for those teams at the top and the highest for those at the bottom.

“That has much to do with what is between their ears more than anything.”
