Porter Declared Fit For Grimsby Trip

6 September 2019

Manager David Artell has declared his talismanic striker Chris Porter fit for duty ahead of tomorrow's Sky Bet League Two trip to Grimsby Town.

The 35-year-old came off in the latter stages of last weekend's victory over Bradford City with a dead leg & was given a full rest from the matchday 18 against Burton Albion in the Leasing.com Trophy in midweek.

Chuma Anene replaced Porter for those final minutes against Bradford & his boss says the new Norwegian forward did well to help the team see out the victory.

Artell said: “He [Chris] had a dead leg. He came over to us on the touchline & told us so we made sure Chuma was warmed up.

“Not a problem, off you come, go on Chuma. I thought he was good when he came on so yeah, Chris is fine.

“For us staff it’s brilliant that everyone is fit, they’re all chomping at the bit & ready to go.”
