Cheltenham Is Always A Tough Place To Go

26 September 2019

David Artell admits that he is not surprised that Cheltenham Town have made a consistent start to the new season.

Crewe travel to Whaddon Road this weekend with Michael Duff’s side a place behind the Alex in the League Two table and Artell expects another tough test.

Crewe have impressed on the road this season, winning four times on the road including a 2-1 win at Leyton Orient in our last outing.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash at Cheltenham, Artell said: “Cheltenham will be another test for us, another challenge.

“It is always a tough place to go. It is a tight pitch and they are going well. So are we.

“We have done well away from home and have only lost the one game at Newport when we should have got something out of that game.

“Newport is the Crawley of last season for me. To have 92% possession in the second half and lose it in the last minute was a travesty really. Even Michael Flynn was honest to admit that afterwards.

“You make your own luck and we know that if we can play as well as we can at Cheltenham then we have a good chance of getting something.”
