Boss: "Chuma Was A Real Threat"

17 September 2019

Chuma Anene’s performance as an impact substitute against Cambridge United on Saturday has certainly given David Artell food for thought.

The Norway born striker netted his first goal for the club to put us 2-1 ahead against the U’s but sadly from circumstances out of our own hands, we didn’t get anything from the game.

Artell was suitably impressed with Anene’s contribution in a much improved second period and he believes there is still more to come from the on-loan forward.

David told crewealex.net: “Chuma is a good player and he was a real threat when he came on against Cambridge. We were all delighted for him that he scored his first goal and there will be more to come from him.

“He is still learning. We are still teaching him the way we want him to play. We have to tell him to go over there and stuff like that but we will get that work into him.

“He went home last week to sort out some documents for visas for his young family, so it hasn’t been easy for him but he has settled in well and there is a player in there.”
