Artell: "We've Got To Learn From It & Move On"

6 September 2019

Manager David Artell says he's spoken to several players after Tuesday night's Burton Albion performance to analyze proceedings, but insists his players must now focus their attention to upcoming games.

It was a disappointing night in defeat at Gresty Road, with eight changes being to the starting line-up, but the Alex boss has urged his players to dust themselves down, learn from what went wrong, & be ready to go against Grimsby this weekend.

He said: "I had five of them in the office yesterday at different times & went through all the clips. It’s gone, it was a learning experience & now its chip shop paper. It might even crop up at Grimsby after the game if we win. We'll get our fish & chips!

“Every game is a learning opportunity win, lose or draw & like I said after the game, some players didn’t cover themselves in much glory & they’ve got to learn but now we move on & we’ve got another game coming up.

“We’ve all been there, we’ve just got to make sure we learn from it & move on. Some of them might end up on the pitch tomorrow & they can’t still be sulking or not confident because we’re going to need them.”
