Artell: "We'll Pick A Team To Win The Game"

3 September 2019

David Artell says he's going all out to try and secure victory over Burton Albion in tonight's Northern Group E clash.

Although expected to make some changes to the regular first XI, the Alex boss has reitterated the importance of the match to his players with continuing momentum, a chance to progress in the competition & good prize money for the Club all the incentives on offer for his side.

Factor that in with some players in the side looking to stake a claim for a regular starting berth & it could be quite a game against Nigel Clough's 'footballing' Brewers this evening.

Artell said: “Against Middlesbrough & Villa we made three of four changes & the lads that came in did well in both.

“We’re not a ‘first XI and that’s it’ because we have got 18 or 19 players that are ready to play in the first team & a few others that are working their way to get there because that’s where they are in their development & that’s a real pleasing thing.

“We’ll pick a team to win the game & hopefully that’s what will happen. We won the first game in the little group last year but we couldn’t quite capitalise on it, so we’ve got to make sure we start the group well again this year.”

The match kicks-off at 7:30pm & tickets are available from the ticket office at £10 adults, £6 seniors & £2 juniors. Click here for more info.
