Eight Different Scorers Is Great But Plenty More To Come

25 September 2019

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell is pleased that the goals are being shared around his squad and he is sure that others will get in on the act soon enough.

Harry Pickering became the club’s 8th different scorer this weekend with his stunning strike against Salford City and Artell says that it is imperative that players continue to help the forward players out with goals from all over the pitch.

David told the club’s official website:  “It is important that we have goals from all over the pitch. We asked the players to contribute more in the summer in that sense and to their credit a number of them have stepped up to the plate.

“To have eight different goalscorers is vital is great and there are a few more who haven’t scored yet. Powelly hasn’t scored, Callum hasn’t got one yet, Perry hasn’t scored for a while now, so there is plenty more to come.

“Oli Finney can get goals from midfield, Chuma has got one from his limited minutes so far and we are sure he will get a number of goals.

He added: “It is vital we keep that going.”
