Crewe Alexandra Manager David Artell has admitted the first month of the new season has been a taxing one on his side - with no fewer than eight first team matches played.
Despite the clog of fixtures, it was a fine opening spell to the campaign with five wins from those eight games & a third place position in the early Sky Bet League Two table.
With slightly less games taking place in September, the boss is looking forward to doing more work with his side on the training field - but first up is another Tuesday night fixture in the form of Burton Albion in the Leasing.com Trophy.
Artell said: “It’s been a tough schedule - Saturday was our eighth game in August.
"I think we’ve only got six this month, so we’ve got a couple of midweeks off, but this first week we’ve got a Tuesday night game & it’s another chance to go some way in progressing in another cup competition & it’s one that we don’t take lightly.
“The prize money is there, we all know about it & it’s important for a Club our size & resources – we’ll be going into it to win the game."
The match kicks-off at 7:30pm & tickets are available from the ticket office at £10 adults, £6 seniors & £2 juniors. Click here for more info.
