Powell To Undergo Precautionary Scan On Ankle Injury

25 October 2019

Crewe forward Daniel Powell will under a precautionary scan to assess the ankle injury he sustained in the 4-2 win over Carlisle United. Powell got off the mark with a stunning finish against the Cumbrians but he has not been able to feature since.

The club are confident that his ankle injury is not as bad as first feared and that Powell will be able to resume full training once the initial swelling has subsided.

David Artell explained to crewealexnet: “Daniel will go for a scan because his ankle hasn’t quite settled down enough. He is fine and we don’t think it is anything too sinister and it is more precautionary than anything, to give us and him peace of mind.

“I am not a medical man but he is running freely and can kick the ball. It is just one kicking action that is struggling with, so we will see what the report says.

The boss added: “We think everything is okay and if it is then we will consider him for tomorrow. Once he gets that green light, he will crack on and I'm sure he will be fine.”
