Ports': "Important We Take Advantage Of Back-to-Back Home Games"

18 October 2019

Leading scorer, Chris Porter, is expecting a ‘good entertaining game’ at Gresty Road this weekend with 7th placed Swindon Town rolling into South Cheshire.

Porter, who scored his 6th goal of an impressive season in the 4-2 win at Carlisle United last weekend is wary of the threat Swindon pose with their experienced squad - but he says it is important that we carry on doing what we have been doing of late.

Ahead of this weekend’s intriguing home fixture, the vastly experienced striker told us: “Teams have come to Gresty Road and sat back and that has sometimes made it difficult for us to break them down. We have had to remain patient and find a way through.

“Our home form has been decent enough and the away form has been very good, so we just have to continue what we are doing.

“I don’t think Swindon are like that. I think they will want to come and play and take the game to us. It was like that when we played them last season and I think it makes for a good, entertaining game.

“They have good players and it will be difficult but we have back-to-back home games coming up in the space of a few days and that gives us a chance to put some points between us and the chasing pack.

Ports added: “If we don’t do that then the pack will close up and we will drop a few places and we want to avoid that. It can turn quickly and it would be massive for us to get six points from these next two home games.”
