'Pez Will Now Serve His Punishment After Two Silly Bookings'

4 October 2019

David Artell has revealed to the club’s official website that he has addressed the squad and his captain Perry Ng on a personal level about the need to keep 11 players on the pitch.

Ng was the third Crewe Alexandra player to be sent off last week at Cheltenham Town last weekend and the influential defender will now miss this weekend’s home game against league leaders Exeter City.

Artell says that continuing to lose players to red cards in games and then have them missing games through suspension could be detrimental to our hopes of sustaining a potential promotion push.

The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “I have spoken to Perry as an individual and I have spoken to the squad about the discipline.

“Perry will not serve his punishment for being silly and like I’ve said as one door closes, another one opens for someone else.

“We have had a chat about it and the prove will now be the pudding because having three players sent off already this season is unacceptable.”
