Lunt: "Gaffer's Higher Vantage Point Is Working Well"

30 October 2019

Kenny Lunt says that the manager’s decision to sit in the stand during the first half of a game is only to provide a difference perspective on what is happening on the pitch.

David Artell watches the game from the vantage point of the Directors' Box during the first 45 minutes and then makes his way down for the second period.

Lunt stresses that the communication between all the staff continues to work well and everyone is entitled to their opinion with the gaffer making the final call.

Speaking before this weekend’s derby clash against Port Vale, Lunt said: “The communication is good between us all. Dave sitting up in the stand is only for him to get a different angle on things. If he wants to change anything he communicates down to us or comes down himself.

“It is working well and he wants everyone to have an opinion. We do but the final decision rests with the gaffer. He sees what is going on from a higher vantage point and can point things out to the players when needed.”
