Alex boss David Artell has told the club’s official website that he has been impressed with our recent unbeaten run of matches but he wants that to continue this month. The Alex boss lost out to Cheltenham Town boss Michael Duff for the September Manager of the Month award but he says that the nomination means his team are consistent.

He told crewealex.net: “To play the team who were then top of the league in Exeter and to go to Cheltenham, who had not lost at home all season and were in good form, and then go down to 10 men and not lose in either of those games, is a success.

“It is harder to win two than to lose two and for us to have some tough fixtures of late and remain unbeaten is impressive. The lads know they have to keep that going.

“We have another tough run coming up before the FA Cup tie, so we will see where we are then.

“The players have been consistent in the opening two months, hence the reason I was nominated, so I will hopefully be nominated again because it takes a massive team effort.”
