Artell On Mark Cooper's Forest Green Test

25 October 2019

David Artell takes his in-form Crewe Alexandra side to 3rd place Forest Green Rovers this weekend and he is relishing the tactical battle up against Mark Cooper.

Artell is expecting another top quality footballing contest and he is hoping that the predicted weather conditions doesn’t affect things too much at the New Lawn.

Ahead of another top of the table clash for the Alex, the boss stated: “I am expecting a good game of football.

“Mark likes his teams to play the right way and they are a good team. I like Mark and have a lot of respect for him and for the way he wants his teams to play.

“They reached the play-offs last season and only their discipline killed them in the end. They had a man sent off in each of the semi-final games against Tranmere and that makes things difficult for anyone.

“They are a stable club and Mark has been there for a while now and he has implemented his philosophy on the club.

“I think it will one of the best football matches in the lower leagues and I just hope that the predicted rain, storm or monsoon or whatever it becomes doesn’t spoil it.

He added:“If its chucking it down like two years ago there then we just have to get on with it.”
