Artell On Exeter Visit

Boss on our top-of-the-table clash against Matty Taylor's Grecians

David Artell has told the club’s official website that we expects a very good spectacle against Matt Taylor’s Exeter City side this weekend.

Exeter arrive in South Cheshire as the current league leaders but only one goal separates them from the Railwaymen in the league table. It is all set up nicely for an intriguing encounter at Gresty Road in the early part of the season.

Ahead of this weekend’s top of the table clash, the Crewe boss told us: “It should be a really good game between two good sides. It has the potential to be a real spectacle played at a high tempo.

“Matt (Taylor) has done a really good job in replacing Paul Tisdale, because Paul had been there a long time but they have good players. They spend a few bob to get them down there and they have good players and that is why they are up there.

“They are a well-run club. I spoke to their chairman when we were down there last season when there was that downpour before kick–off and he was a really great fella.

“They have just carried on under Matt where Paul left off really and I am sure they will there or thereabouts at the end, but then hopefully so will we be.

He added: “We cannot put too much pressure on it. It is just another game and it is still 11v 11 with three points at the end of it.”
