Boss Looks Forward To Challenging Week Ahead

18 October 2019

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side are in a ‘good place’ at the minute but that they face a challenging week up against Swindon Town, Colchester United and Forest Green Rovers. Those three clubs will expect to be involved in the promotion shake-up and Artell says that the challenge is there for his players to acquire enough points to remain at the top of the league.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “We are in a good place at the minute. We are top of the league and that means we have played pretty well to be at the top of the league. That isn’t luck. We are there on merit and the challenge is now for us to stay there for as long as possible.

“We deserve to be top because we have got the most points so far but we have to keep performing well. We have a tough week coming up and it can change very quickly. We should embrace the challenge and try and create a bit of a gap between us and the pack or if we don’t get too many points then we could be back down in 8th.

He added: “We get nothing for being top in October and I want this team to stay there.”
