Artell: "We Were Good Value For The Three Points"

21 October 2019

David Artell says that there will be no resting on laurels despite stretching our unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions with a 3-1 win over Swindon at the weekend.

Crewe had to come from behind yet again to acquire all three points against The Robins with Chris Porter scoring twice and Charlie Kirk scoring in stoppage time to complete another stunning comeback.

Crewe now welcome Colchester United to the Alexandra Stadium tomorrow evening.

Artell told the club’s official website: “We deserved to win the game on Saturday but there is room for improvement. I’ve been saying that for a while. There is more to come from this team.

“We are top of the league and I am not being downbeat but that is the truth. The players have done terrific but there is always something to put right.

“We have conceded first again, so there is room for important right there. I would like to concede less goals but as I said Saturday I think we were unfortunate to go behind because I didn’t think Swindon deserved to score.

“They did and the players showed that character and belief and it was a terrific comeback again from them.

He added: “I thought we were good throughout and that we were good value for the three points.”
