Lowery: "These Are The Games You Want To Play In"

26 November 2019

Tom looks forward to tonight's clash at New Lawn

Tom Lowery had told that the Alex players are looking forward to tonight’s top of the table clash at Forest Green. The Railwaymen travel to the New Lawn on the back of a 5-0 win against Morecambe at the weekend and we can return to the top of League Two if we can get all three points against Mark Cooper’s second placed side.

It is all set for a League Two classic and Lowery admits that these are the type of games you want to be involved in as a player.

Lowery hit his fifth goal of the season with a deflected effort against Morecambe on Saturday and the midfielder is hoping for more goals and assists this season.

Ahead of our trip to Forest Green, Tom told us: “It is a big game and if we can get the three points then we would go top of the league again, so we the incentive is there. It should be a good game. Forest Green play good football as well.

“These are the games you want to be involved in as a player, the games at the top of the league. It makes a change from the last few years when we haven’t had that and this is definitely the best squad we have had since I became involved at first team level.

He added: “We have real strength in depth and you only have to see Saturday where Oli Finney has come into the team and scored two goals. There are five or six really good midfielders here, so you know you have to perform well or there is someone there ready to take your place.”
