ARTELL: “We Are In A Good Place At The Moment”

15 November 2019

David Artell tells crewealex.net that since the new year the away form isn’t just pinned on ‘one thing’ and explains the importance of his squad being 12 months older.

He said: “I can’t turn around and say ‘it is just this’ else I would have done that 18 months ago. It is a whole multitude of factors and none more-so the fact they are all 12 months older. That is important.

“They now all understand what is required and how it happens. You can’t underestimate the victories at Mansfield, Swindon, Stevenage and MK Dons last year with the latter getting promoted.”

So far this season the Railwaymen have accumulated 16 points away from home ahead of a stern Northampton test.

The Gaffer added: “We are in a good place at the moment, the last two results haven’t been brilliant. The Colchester game was a real tough game, I thought it was one of the hardest games we’ve been involved in. Then obviously to lose to Vale was a bit of a blow, but we are still fourth in the league.

“We’ve got to now go to Northampton and show everyone why we are in the position that we are in.”
