David Artell says that this weekend’s trip to the Sixfields Stadium will be a ‘stern test’ for his Crewe Alexandra side. The Alex travel to Northampton on the back of just one defeat in the last ten games in all competitions – but with Keith Curle’s Cobblers also going well, it should be another intriguing contest in League Two.
Northampton comfortably defeated Chippenham Town 3-0 in the FA Cup last Sunday and they are currently in 9th place and just two points outside of the play-off places.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “Playing Northampton is always a stern test and we will have to play like we have been doing away from home to beat them.
“They have some good players and a good manager. They have their way of playing and we will have to stand up to that.
“They are going well at the minute, as are we, so it should be a good game. It is never an easy place to go but we have to perform to the level we did at Accrington last week. If we do then we have every chance of getting a result again.”
