David Artell believes that whoever we get in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup will be a tough test. Following a deserved 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley on Saturday, Crewe have drawn either Stourbridge or Eastleigh away in round two.
Artell is planning to watch the replay next week after the first game ended 2-2.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “I was watching the draw with the wife and the kids and they were watching it through their fingers going ‘I can’t stand it’ and all that and I was thinking what are they going to be like if we get through and the big boys come into it.
“The FA Cup sweeps us all us into it and my family are no different. After deservedly getting through against Accrington, we have become the hunted again if you like. We will be favourites but that is nothing new to us this season.
“We have to accept it and embrace it. I’ve already told them that this season because of our league position. When we have been top or up there then teams will be after us and that is the challenge.
He added: “It will be the same with Stourbridge or Eastleigh. It is a test but a good draw for us and we will going there to win.”
