Lunt: "Tough Decisions Have To Be Made"

8 May 2019

Assistant manager Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that ‘difficult decisions’ has to made over our summer retain list.

The club announced details of the retained list yesterday with the long-serving George Ray and Ben Garratt set to leave this summer. Ray declined the offer of a new deal for a new challenge and Garratt had his offer revoked after failing to agree to sign ahead of a set deadline.

Lunt says that all decisions are tough at this stage but especially so when players have been with us for so long.

The former club captain and now assistant said: “It is always difficult to make those type of decisions but people move on and the club move on. It is especially tough when they have been with us from a young age, such as George and Ben and young Joe Lynch but that is football and things move on.

“They go with no hard feelings. They were both honest, good professionals and were good servants for the Football Club. We wish them all the very best in their careers. That goes with all the lads who are leaving us this summer. It is what it is and we have to move on quickly.”
