With one game to go, the Alex boss praises the fantastic support the tema has had at home and on the road this season.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is delighted that a large number of Alex supporters will be travelling to Grimsby for the final away game.

The Alex want to finish as high as possible in the table and end the campaign with an impressive five straight wins.

Ahead of the trip to Blundell Park, the boss told crewealex.net: “Of course it is terrific that it looks as though a number of fans to Cleethorpes and that they are making a weekend of it. It is very much appreciated and the away fans have been terrific with us all season.

“Hopefully, we have been able to repay some of their support with some our away results and performances in the second half of the season.

“Although some of the performances were there in the first half of the season, the results weren’t there.

“That is why we have fallen short of where we want to be. That was the aim in August, so we are disappointed that we do not have a chance of playing for that on Saturday. The aim now has to be to finish with five wins on the bounce and hopefully end in the that top ten.”
