Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that it is great to have Paul Green and Nicky Hunt signed for at least another 12 months. The club were quick to activate Green’s 12-month extension despite the combat midfielder falling just short of the number of games he had to play to trigger it.

Former Bolton defender, Hunt, has put a potential coaching role on hold to sign for another 12 months and Lunt says their experience will be crucial inside the Alex dressing room again next season.

Lunt told crewealex.net: “It is great to have two more experienced players with us. They have both done terrifically well when they have played this season.

“Their experience in the game is very important to us. They help the younger ones and lead by example. They train well every day and look after themselves really well, which is why they are still going at the age they are.

“They are top professionals and great to have in and around the place. We are delighted that they will still be here next season.”
