Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager Kenny Lunt has revealed that talks with young midfielder Oli Finney remain on-going. Finney’s consistent form for the Under-23s saw him offered more chances at first team level this season.
The Stoke-on-Trent born youngster made 19 appearances in all competitions at first team level to earn himself a new deal at the club. He is yet to sign his new deal.
If he does then Lunt says that Finney has every opportunity of adding to that experience if he signs soon and works as hard as he did this season.
The assistant manager told us: “Oli has done well this season and progressed. He has earned himself another contract.
“Now he has to push on and make sure he is starting more games next season. That’s his challenge and if he can do that I am sure he will be rewarded with a longer and better contract again. The incentive is there for him.
“He has done well but he has to keep on developing.”
