"We Cannot Wait Forever For Jordan Decision"

8 May 2019

Lunt on Jordan Bowery extension talks

Assistant manager Kenny Lunt has told the club’s official website that there is a time limit set on forward Jordan Bowery signing a new contract with the club.

The club’s management have offered a new contract to the Nottingham-born forward but as of yet the 27-year-old has yet to agree or reject the offer. Bowery scored 9 goals last season and was often used as wide forward to accommodate Chris Porter as the main target man in the second half of the season.

Kenny told crewealex.net: “We can't wait forever, there's always a time limit but we won't go into what it is," he said.

"Jordan has been offered a contract and we are waiting to hear from him.

"We want him to sign, that's why we have offered him a contract, but we'll have a list of strikers if he chooses not to.

"The sooner the better for both parties, it's not a one-way thing. It's not about Jordan waiting on a contract, seeing where else he can get, then coming back to Crewe.

"And it's not about us saying 'we've found someone better and your contract is not there now' either."

"Jordan has played more than most, so has Ben to be fair, but Will (Jaaskelainen) has come in the team lately and Trigger (Dave Richards) has played 19 games too, so we feel it's a different situation.

"It could end up the same with Jordan but we'll have to wait and see."
