Contract: Oli Finney Pens New Alex Deal

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Oliver Finney has signed a new one-year-contract with the Club, with the option of a further year.

The 21-year-old was out of contract at the end of the 2018/19 season but was offered fresh terms by Manager David Artell after breaking into the first team.

Finney ended the campaign with 19 appearances to his name & won the Club's Breakthrough Player of the Season award at the end of season presentation evening.

He made his debut way back in the 2016/17 season, coming on as a substitute in the final day win over Barnet & featured on one occasion again in 2017/18 as a late sub at Carlisle.

During those campaigns however, he did gain further senior experience with loans to Nantwich Town & Halesowen Town before breaking into the first team picture more regularly this past season.

After flourishing with several goals & assists in Alex Morris Under 23 side during the early months of the campaign, Finney was awarded his first start against Manchester City U21's in the Checkatrade Trophy in September & came off the bench in a couple of league games.

His first professional start came in November at Northampton, followed up the the FA Cup defeat to Carlisle a week later. After a brief spell coming out the team, Finney broke back in regularly during the second half of the season & impressed enough to earn his new contract.
