Contract: Nicky Hunt Signs New One-Year-Deal

7 May 2019

Crewe Alexandra defender Nicky Hunt has signed a new one-year-contract to keep him at the Club until summer 2020.

The 35-year-old was set to be out of contract this summer, but boss Dave Artell has moved quickly to tie up the veteran defender.

Hunt has played all across the back four this season, starting at right-back before enjoying a comfortable spell in the centre of defence & ending the campaign at left-back to cover for the injured Harry Pickering & Aaron Taylor-Sinclair.

Hunt made a total of 25 appearances for The Alex in 2018/19, but his infectious character in and around the place was another key reason Manager David Artell was keen to keep hold of the former Bolton Wanderers Premier League man.

Now going off for a deserved break, Hunt will return to Reaseheath in late June to begin pre-season work ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

Congratulations to Hunty from everyone at the Club for earning his new deal.
