Boss On Bowery Latest

14 May 2019

David Artell remains keen on striker committing his future to the Alex.

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell remains keen to sign Jordan Bowery to a new contract with the club and says that talks with the players’ agent have been on-going for a while now. Artell wants the former Chesterfield and Aston Villa striker to commit his future to the club and he says that positive negotiations between the two parties are continuing. The boss has not set any deadline on a decision because those talks are progressive at this stage.

David told the club’s official website: “Jordan’s agent rang me and I missed it. I called him back but he missed me, so I will resume those talks today. The talks have been very amicable so far and we can only see where we get to.

“Jordan is a great fella. He is really is and his agent is a good guy. He talks well and is sensible. He will ask for bits and bobs like they all do and all we can do is continue to talk.

“We will see what happens and it hasn’t got to that point where he need an answer one way or another because we are still talking and still negotiating. Of course, it won’t go on forever but we are not at that stage yet.

“We will all keep talking and get to the end of the road one way or another. Jordan has settled down with a young family, he works his socks off and is a good footballer and those are the types we want around this football club. We want more of that and that is why we want him to stay.”
