David Artell has told the club’s official website that it is great to have senior professionals such as Chris Porter, Eddie Nolan, Paul Green and Nicky Hunt inside the Crewe dressing room - but he stresses that the younger players need to lean on the older players and not totally rely on them.
David told the club’s official website: “We will have that that mix of younger and older players again and it won’t be much different with the players we are trying to get in.
“It is great to have the senior pros that the younger ones can lean on when needed. It is hopefully going to be once or twice a season rather than 10 times a game. It is important to have those older, more experienced players, but you can’t be over reliant on them.
“A lot of our younger players have played over 100 games now or are close to doing so, so they are seasoned professionals and are not kids any more in a football sense. They are established players in their own right.”
