Artell: "We Wish All The Lads That Have Left Us All The Best"

8 May 2019

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that it is always difficult to see players leave the football club at the end of the season but he accepts that it is a major part of his decision making as a manager.

The Crewe Alexandra boss has had to make some tough calls, especially when it comes to our former Academy graduates, Ben Garratt and George Ray, departing the club after years of sterling service.

Artell told the club’s official website: “It is always difficult but we wish all the lads the very best. It is football and people move on.

“It is even more difficult when players have been here a very long time, like George and Ben and young Joe Lynch. It is always sad to see them go because they have been here since 8 and 9 or whatever it might be.

“There are three separate reasons for them moving on. It is quite different situations but everyone at the club wishes them well in their careers.”
