On loan full-back Jamie Sterry believes that an encounter under the Prenton Park headlights this evening is the perfect place to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing loss to Northampton.
In the words of manager David Artell, his Crewe Alexandra side were ‘just not at it’ during that first half against Northampton and we found ourselves 2-0 down before the interval and really chasing the game.
Sterry was handed his first start of his loan deal at left-back against the Cobblers last weekend and the Newcastle youngster will be hoping to put things right with a result at Prenton Park tonight.
Ahead of tonight’s game, Sterry told he club’s official website: “It was good to get a game last weekend, but the result wasn’t great, which was very frustrating because we didn’t play very well at all.
“We’ve got another chance (on Friday) to put it right, so hopefully I can stay in the team.
“It’s a big club there at Tranmere, but if we play well, we can beat most teams in the league.
“If we keep doing the right things and get back to winning ways, we still have a chance to do it (reach the Play Offs). We just have to keep playing well and winning games.”
