We Want To Go Into The Last Game With Something To Play For

29 March 2019

Following our superb 6-1 win at home to Crawley Town and our deserved 2-1 away win at Mansfield Town last weekend, Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that there is still the possibility of snatching the final play-off spot.

Artell has certainly not given up hope of his team ending the campaign really strongly and giving ourselves an outside shot at the top seven.

Crewe host Michael Duff’s Cheltenham this weekend and only three points will do with just seven fixtures left.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “There are seven games left and we will be working as hard as we can to win all of them. That has to be the objective and if we can do that, then who knows where he might end up.

“Our aim is to go into the final game at Grimsby with something to play for. The games are coming thick and fast we will take it game to game, but there are still a lot of points on offer and there is plenty to play for.

“I think everyone has something to play for. I think it is a good league and there are no stand out teams like previous season. I think Bury are the closest to that.

“There is no-one stuck and cut adrift, so there is a lot to play for.”
