Boss: "We Need To Rediscover That Rhythm In Our Play"

5 March 2019

David Artell has told the club’s official website that his Crewe Alexandra side have to rediscover their rhythm after suffering back-to-back home defeats.

The Railwaymen, who had been on a terrific run have now not won in three games after also drawing 1-1 away at Oldham Athletic and the Crewe boss is hoping we can get back into our stride at Tranmere on Friday night.

Ahead of the trip to Prenton Park on Friday, Artell told the club’s official website: “It is the first time we have suffered back-to-back home defeats and it has come as a bit of a surprise because we have been really consistent at home.

“We showed the lads a longer video yesterday that took in our last three performances against Oldham, Exeter and Northampton. It needed doing because there were some trends appearing in the performances.

“It was all done to improve us and to make them aware of a few things and I had some senior players coming up to me afterwards and saying that it is straightforward when it is shown and highlighted on the video and that is great feedback to have. It shows that they are thinking about the game and trying to improve.

“I think we play with a rhythm and we haven’t quite found that over the last two and half games if you like. There are reasons to that and we will go out this week and work on it. When we show the boys, they take it on board and go out and practice it.

The boss added: “I’m sure the rhythm to our play will be back and we will be looking to get another positive result on Friday night.”
