One Game At A Time For Us

25 March 2019

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says he has not mentioned the play-offs to his players and we wants them to take it one game at a time and see where that can take us. The Alex have got back to winning ways in the last couple of weeks after a run of three losses and a draw derailed our play-off hopes after a terrific run over Christmas and New Year.

Crewe showed their metal again at the weekend when beating promotion contenders Mansfield Town 2-1 at the One Call Stadium thanks to two goals from substitute Callum Ainley.

The Alex boss has stressed that it remains one game at a time, as he looks to smash last season’s points tally of 56. Crewe are now just three points behind that tally with seven games still to play.

David told crewealex.net: “I’ve told them, I’m not speaking about the play offs. I’m not. But keep winning games and you never know where we will go.

“If we don’t get there, it’s not over. There is something to play for always, we are back at home next week against Cheltenham and we really are taking it one game at a time.

“They are all tough games and it is tough to get three points against anyone and Cheltenham will be no different.”
