Ollie Finney is hoping he can build on his home league debut last weekend and help Crewe Alexandra finish the season strongly. Finney impressed in the 6-1 win over Crawley Town and the young midfielder is hoping that he has done enough to earn himself another start at Mansfield this coming weekend.
Finney knows that he has to start creating and scoring goals to earn himself a regular spot in David Artell’s starting XI.
Ahead of our trip to the One Call Stadium on Saturday, Finney said: “I really enjoyed it against Crawley and overall it was a good win and a good day for everyone.
“I had a couple of chances. The volley say up nicely for me so I just hit it in the conditions and the second one he saved around the post, I must admit I was off celebrating because I thought it was in!
“For the 23s those shots go in! I know I have to create and score goals to get into the team and that is what I will aim to do.
“Hopefully I can get those chances to do that but the most important thing is that the team get the three points. “
