Artell: "We Will Have To Be Just As Clinical"

21 March 2019

David Artell is looking for his Crewe team to be as ruthless at Mansfield as they were against Crawley last weekend. Crewe really took their chances and showed their clinical edge to win the game 6-1 and although Artell knows it is unlikely we will create as many chances as we did last Saturday, he wants us to be just as clinical.

Crewe scored four at the One Call Stadium last season to win a thriller 4-3 and Artell is hoping that our recent run of good from continues away from home.

In the build up to our trip to Mansfield, Artell told us: “First and foremost Mansfield are hard to beat home or away. They are very good on set-pieces. Mansfield scored their goal from a free-kick against Lincoln. They have Benning's delivery, Jorge Grant's delivery, McDonald when he came on, they work on it - you can see that.

"They have also got pace in the team with Tyler Walker and CJ Hamilton, they have skill in Jorge Grant, and they are competitive.

"They are third in the league for a reason, but we have been to Mansfield and scored plenty of goals and moved the ball well, and we have to do the same again.

"It'll be a good atmosphere, they get behind the team, they cheer every time it goes into the box and when it is close to the goal.

"We haven't lost many away from home recently, but we have to be more ruthless.

The boss added: "We have to go to Mansfield and be as ruthless as we were last Saturday. We are harder to beat now and that has to continue."
