Cheltenham's Recent Poor Run On The Road Won't Count For Much At Kick Off

29 March 2019

David Artell says that Cheltenham Town’s recent poor away record will count for nothing when the game commences at Gresty Road tomorrow.

Michael Duff’s side have lost their last six away games but Artell says that no-one at Crewe Alexandra will be complacent. Crewe have a good home record but he points to our fairly recent win at MK Dons as a prime example of what can happen.

Ahead of the visit of the Robins, Artell told crewealex.net: “Cheltenham have been good at home and not so good away but that doesn’t mean anything to me.

“They have not won in their last six and our home record has been decent all season but we weren’t exactly in good away form when we went to the MK Dons and managed to win.

“Forest Green come to us before the end of the season and they have one of the best away records in the division but that doesn’t mean we cannot win the game does it?

“We have seven games left and we want to win as many as we possibly can, starting tomorrow. There is always something to play for. I saw Michael’s (Duff) interview the other day and he said that their result last weekend means they are safe, but he will still be thinking there is plenty to play for.

“If they can win the majority of their last seven games, then they will consider that a really successful season because they will comfortably be in mid-table but if they don’t win any of the seven then they take that negativity into the summer.

“We know that there is always something to play for and we expect a tough test tomorrow”
