Boss Praise For Returning Jonah

11 March 2019

James Jones completed his first 90 minutes on his return to first team action at Tranmere Rovers on Friday night. The midfielder had missed the club’s last six matches after sustaining ankle ligament damage in the 1-0 win at MK Dons.

After playing 70 minutes for the club’s U-23s at Millwall on Tuesday, Jones was thrust back into action at Prenton Park and performed admirably in our narrow 1-0 loss.

Manager David Artell was delighted with the contribution made by the former Scotland Under-21 International.

David told us: “Jonah possibly tired in the last 10 minutes but that is to be expected because it was his first 90 minutes since coming back from his injury. For his first game back he did very well for us.

“He played 70 minutes at Millwall for the Under-23s and that put him in good stead but he was good for his first full game for a while.

“It was a really good effort from him and in general he did well. He has worked to get back and make himself available.”
