David Artell has told the club’s official website that his Crewe side will face a stern test at the Abbey Stadium this evening. The Alex boss expects a tough encounter in what is expected to be difficult weather conditions.
Ahead of this evening trip to Cambridge, the Alex boss said: "It will be blowing a gale and chucking down with rain, so we will see how far some of our players have come.
"It will be a tough game, they are similar to Tranmere in the sense they have a bit of everything. We have to make sure whatever gets thrown at us we are competitive.
"From what I saw on Saturday they are a competitive team with a front four that can hurt you. We will have to be up for the challenge, they certainly won't roll over.
"They've had a significant upturn in results since Colin Calderwood came in and we have to match them.
He added: "We go there with that at the forefront of our mind, and play football when we get the opportunity."
