Boss hoping that decent away run continues at Field Mill this weekend.
David Artell says he has been impressed with the improvement in our away form during the second half of the season and he is looking for that to continue at Mansfield Town this weekend.
Crewe have lost just twice on the road in 2019 and both to promotion seeking opposition, in Ryan Lowe’s Bury side and Tranmere Rovers. Crewe’s recent record stands at two away defeats in the last seven matches.
Artell says that is a vast improvement from the first part of the season when we really struggled to register away points. Now we are hoping to put a dent in Mansfield’s automatic promotion hopes this Saturday.
David told crewealex.net: “Mansfield are right up there and we will have to play well to beat them but there is nothing better as a player than to go away from home in front of thousands of fans and getting a result.
“It is always nice to prove a point and go over to your own fans at the end of the game and applaud them after getting three points. For me there is no better feeling than upsetting those odds.
He added: “There should be a good atmosphere there and we have got to use that to our advantage. I tend to think we play better in front of a decent crowd and we will be looking to do the same again on Saturday.”
