Artell: "We Have To Get Those Fine Lines Going For Us"

11 March 2019

David Artell says his Crewe Alexandra side will be going all out to stop a recent run of three successive defeats when we travel to Cambridge United tomorrow evening.

The Alex have suffered narrow defeats to Exeter, Northampton and most recently Tranmere Rovers and were left to rue most missed chances in all of those games.

Ahead of our mid-week trip to the Abbey Stadium, the Crewe boss told us: “We have three on the spin and that has come as a surprise. We didn’t see that coming.

“We have been on the wrong side of the line in those three games. Exeter was a bit different.

“We had a stonewall penalty late on and the officials have got it wrong. They both should have seen it and it cost us a chance to get a point.

“We also crafted the best chance of the game for Shaun Miller and he didn’t take it. They have hit two long balls and we didn’t deal with them, so Norwood has scored and hit the post.

“There wasn’t much in it and we just fell the wrong side of those fine margins. We have to make sure we get the other side.”
