Artell: "24 Points Still To Play For Is Still The Target"

19 March 2019

Boss wants the team to end the season on a real unbeaten run again.

Following an impressive 6-1 win over Crawley, Crewe Alexandra reached the milestone of 50 league points on Saturday which is usually the yardstick of survival, but the driven David Artell is not too bothered about that total.

The Crewe boss says the target is now an extra 24 points from our eight remaining games to see where that could possibly take us.

David Artell told the club’s official website: “I’m not particularly focused on that I have to say, I could be asking about Notts County and Macclesfield Town have got on, but I’m not bothered.

“We have to look after ourselves and that’s what we have to do. We want to constantly improve, more goals, more clean sheets, more points.

“I think we are on track to get more points and finish higher, and that would be progression.

“There are 24 points still to play for and that has to be the objective. If we can get to that total then that would give us a chance, so it continues on Saturday at Mansfield.

“We will see where we can get to but we want to win every game.”
