Artell: "A Big Game For Both Clubs"

22 March 2019

David Artell has hailed tomorrow’s game at the One Call Stadium as ‘a big game for both clubs.’

The Crewe Alexandra boss says that his team will be taking it one game at a time and that any talk of a play-off place is frivolous after we didn’t win in five games, but a 6-1 win over Crawley Town has quickly restored a positive vibe.

David Flitcroft’s Mansfield currently occupy one of the automatic promotion places and they will be aiming to safeguard that position with the three points.

Ahead of the trip to Mansfield, the Alex boss said: “It was good to watch Mansfield live on Monday. Being able to watch the opposition gives you the opportunity to have a wider vision of what goes on. It is more beneficial than to just watching a TV screen.

“They are a good side and they got a good point against the league leaders, so we know it will be a tough game but if we play like we can and we can be as ruthless as we were last weekend then I know we will give a good account of ourselves.

“I’m sure David (Flitcroft) will know about us as well and how dangerous we can be. It is a big game for both clubs and we both want the three points, so it should be a good game.

He added: “When you play well, well for an hour and score six goals then that is bound to give you a major boost. It all helps and we have to take that into this weekends game.”
