Alex make the former MK Dons and Northampton winger, Daniel Powell, our second summer signing.
Forward Daniel Powell has become Crewe Alexandra’s second signing of the summer following the previous arrival of defender Olly Lancashire from Swindon Town.
The 28-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club with a 12-month option following the conclusion of his deal at Northampton Town this summer.
The Luton-born forward came through the highly respected youth Academy at MK Dons and went on to make 271 appearances for the club, scoring 46 goals and helping the club win promotion to the Championship in 2015. Powell was also named the club’s Young Player of the Year in 2011.
During his early career with the MK Dons, he also spent time out on loan with Crawley, Forest Green and Darlington to enhance his playing experience.
After nine seasons at MK Dons, Powell joined Northampton Town in 2017 and during his two seasons at the Sixfields Stadium, he made 73 appearances, scoring 8 goals.
Powell has played the majority of his career as a winger but can also operate as a central forward if called upon.
We would like to welcome Daniel to the Football Club.
