Assistant manager delighted that the winger has joined Crewe ahead of other options.
Kenny Lunt likes the fact that our recent summer signing Daniel Powell chose to come to Crewe Alexandra purely for football reasons. Powell, 28, had other interest in his signature and he rejected the chance to re-sign for Northampton Town after making 73 appearances for the Cobblers over the last two seasons.
The former MK Dons winger wanted his future resolved before he embarked on a holiday and liked what he saw and what was said to him when he conducted a conversation with manager David Artell.
The club’s assistant manager told crewealex.net: “Daniel is a really good guy and he has been successful in his career and played in the Championship. He has a lot of experience and I’m sure he will help us.
“He has come here for footballing reasons. He could quite easily had stayed where he was and not have to travel. He could have been comfortable but he is prepared to travel to Crewe and wants to play regularly.
“He wants to be in a successful team and have a successful season and hopefully he can be.”
