Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, says that the club’s new summer signing, Olly Lancashire, is just the type of character we need to add to our dressing room.
The former Swindon Town captain has become David Artell’s first signing of the pre-season following the departures of centre-halves, Michael Raynes and George Ray.
The 30-year-old defender brings a wealth of experience having played over 300 games and skippered a number of his former clubs.
Lunt told the club’s official web-site: “Olly is a good signing. He is a good player, a good guy and is another one at the right age. He brings that experience and has captained Swindon over the last couple of seasons, so it is another leader to add to our dressing room.
“He will help others and that is important because Michael (Raynes) and George (Ray) have moved on this summer. He adds that and hopefully he will come in and win his aerial duals like those two players did for us.
“We are delighted to have got it done early. He was right up there on the top of our list so we are very happy with the business.”
